Awarded Prestigious First Year Lower Division Award in Professional Photography

On Friday, April 7, 2006 I was awarded the First Year Lower Division Award in Professional Photography by the prestigious Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, California. Out of hundreds of students, I was selected as one of only a handful who showed both high academic success as well as the highest quality of photographic skills and talent.

At a private ceremony which few students are even aware exists, I was given the traditional 1st year award plaque. Along with four other recipients, I was taken to lunch with the President and Provost of the School, as well as a few other instructors. We had an opportunity to share our views of the school, and our personal experiences attending the school during our first year. We were also asked for any suggestions for the improvement of Brooks Institute of Photography.

This was naturally a great honor, one which I could not have had if it were not for a few key instructors which taught me in my first year, namely Ryan Bowden and Scott Miles. Much of the credit for this award goes to them.
